SRI AMRITSAR SAHIB – (SNN) In an unexpected move, the official Panj Piarays of Sri Akal Takht Sahib in the presence of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, issued summons to the five individuals who under pressure from Akali Dal Badal, recently issued a pardon to the notorious Sirsa cultist Gurmeet Ram Rahim.
The Panj Piarays, Bhai Satnam Singh Ji Khanda, Bhai Tirlok Singh Ji, Bhai Mangal Singh Ji, Bhai Satnam Singh Ji, and Bhai Major Singh Ji summoned Gurcharan Singh, Iqbal Singh, Mal Singh, Ram Singh (Dhoophia), and Gurmukh Singh to appear at Sri Akal Takht Sahib on October 23rd at 10 am to explain the reason for their mysterious pardon of the cult dera chief last month.
MAKKAR INFURIATED
In reaction to the summons, Shiromani Gurdwara Pardandhak Committee (SGPC) president Avtar Makkar “suspended” the Panj Piarays along with SGPC secretary Dr. Roop Singh, and Manjit Singh. The latter two had participated in a protests against the priest Gurbachan Singh on October 20th. There other individuals, Karj Singh, Harcharan Singh Khalsa, Harpal Singh, and Surjeet Singh were also “suspended” by Makkar.
Makkar also claimed that as SGPC chief, he had the power to annul the summons of the Panth Piarays and termed it as ‘manmat’, against administrative ethics and could further divide the Sikh community.
